You are more than welcome to come down on a Monday and see what we’re all about. As we have a diverse programme, you won’t get a flavour of what the club can offer you on one night alone. So prospective new members are welcome to come for three evenings before they consider if they want to join.
Members pay an annual subscription and £1 on the door each week. This pays for the hall hire, lecturers and judges and new equipment. We also have a tea, coffee and cake break which is £1.
What Camera Do I Need?
You don’t necessarily need a top of the range camera to take great images. Indeed, our members own a vast range of cameras from point and shoot, bridge cameras, through to entry level DSLRs and top of the range cameras – old and new! What is more important is taking well composed, correctly exposed and engaging images.
Do I Need Photoshop?
Digital photography and photo editing/manipulation do go hand in hand. While half of our members use Photoshop to enhance their images, others use Lightroom, Affinity, or the software that came with their camera. Just some basic adjustments to the exposure and contrast, or a crop to an image can make a big difference to the final image. While some members are a bit of a whizz with photo-editing, there are many others who just apply basic adjustments.
If you have any queries please do contact us via email at enquiries@stevenagephotographicsociety.org.uk. A member of the committee will get back to you as soon as possible.
