Our first open projected digital image competition of the season, judged by Dave Hipperson.
Come along to see a wide range of members’ work, hear constructive feedback and pick up ideas for your own photography. A good evening for visitors too, as it gives a real flavour of the range of images produced within the club.
Thu 1 Oct 2026 - External Competition: Four-Way Battle at H2
Tonight Stevenage competes against H2, Letchworth and Welwyn Garden City in our annual Four-Way Battle, hosted this year by H2 Photographic Society.
The independent judge will be Jonathan Vaines. Come along to support Stevenage and enjoy an evening featuring a strong and varied selection of photography from all four clubs.
Mon 28 Sep 2026 - Studio Night: Still Life and Macro
Bring your camera, tripod and a few things to photograph for a hands-on still life and macro evening.
This is a good opportunity to slow down, experiment with lighting and composition, and make interesting images from everyday objects, flowers, textures, curiosities and anything else you can fit on a table.

New to club competitions, or just in need of a refresher? Tonight we will look at how competitions work, how to upload PDIs, what image settings are needed, and what is meant by the different competition types including panels, monochrome and prints. Also looking at Mounting, how to cut mounts, where to order mounts from and sizing
We will also look at examples from previous seasons. No daft questions — we have all been baffled by sizing, uploading and metadata at some point.

This lecture will be via Zoom.
Tonight we welcome Tony North for an evening exploring the wonderful world of fungi photography. Expect beautiful details, woodland atmosphere, colour, texture and plenty of inspiration for those autumn walks when the best subjects are often hiding quietly underfoot.
